Just the way nature intended - continued
Our naturist journey at Jajarawong has taken us to many personal places.
Many would ask, "what do you get out of naturism"? We both get a great sense of freedom being clothes free for as many hours as we can, you have to be sensible of course you don't run around outside in the middle of winter without some clothes, but when your house and because we also provide cottage accommodation with great wood heaters then being warm and snug indoors is not a problem at all.
We offer our guests the opportunity even in cold weather to gather and meet socially for a drink and a yarn in air conditioned comfort in our bar and lounge at the end of each day. We often talk about the places we have seen on our travels and the people we have met.
But, getting back to our story, wearing no clothes seems to reduce one's stress levels. It's like you have escaped all the hustle and bustle of the busy world and the feelings of freedom and being care-free are something we really enjoy; the world is such a complicated place at times we all need ways to de-stress, we find our naturist lifestyle to be just the thing.
Most of the guests who stay on our property are what we would describe as recreational naturists. They take every opportunity they can to strip off and enjoy life for all the reasons we have outlined so far when they go on holiday. We are really lucky we can live our lifestyle almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Lots of people are interested to know if other members of our family and extended family share our interest in naturism. The truth in our case is no! This is a good question, our daughter was raised in this clothes free environment from the age of 2 and was happy to run and play on our property clothes free with us and others until she reached puberty, then that all changed. She would say 'why can't you be like all the other parents, they don't run around nude'. She has now well and truly left home and has two children of her own, she has gotten over all that stuff but still likes to keep her clothes on. All our other family members know exactly what we do in terms of lifestyle and making our living on our naturist retreat. They wouldn't do it but their relationship with us has not changed at all. We are still the same people we always were. "Clothes don't maketh the man". If we think that our nudity would offend other family members when they visit, it's no big deal to dress up.
Jajarawong is a great place for first time naturists to 'come out' and see and feel what it's all about.

Yandoit
- Yandoit, small rural town established during the gold rush period and settled mainly by Swiss-Italians in the late 1850's. Yandoit now has about 60 people and is in the Hepburn Shire and some 160km's North-West of Melbourne. The landscape is hilly with lots of bush. There are a number of small farms, sheep and cattle are the main agricultural pursuits of the farmers. However there are a large number of Yandoit residents who commute to work in surrounding larger towns, like Castlemaine, Daylesford, Ballarat and Bendigo. Yandoit offers travellers a great history and links to the past. The valleys, creeks and bush and the abundant wild life make living here a real joy.
