Maydena, Tasmania - one of the last natural areas on the planet.

A visit to Tasmania conjures up waterfalls, lush green rainforest, imposing mountain ranges and native wildlife. Maydena has all this and more and should be a not-to-be-missed experience for everyone travelling to this State.

Close-by is the Mount Field National Park, the oldest National Park in Australia; the World Heritage listed South West Wilderness, the Styx Forest with its spectacular Giant Trees; the Junee Cave, part of the deepest limestone cave system in Australia and Lake Pedder and the Gordon Dam at the end of the Gordon river road.

Maydena is a small friendly little town, a world away from the capital Hobart, but still only a leisurely 75 minutes by car.

Platypus live onsite at the Giants Table and Cottages and can be viewed by guests staying or eating exclusively.
