Yellowbellies firing up

Winter is slowly dropping away, and fishing the mighty Murray looks to be improving as temperatures rise

Well this weekend past I was glad to see the Murray water temp up to a good 15 degrees, after a winter with as low as 8.

There seemed to be some movement as east of Bundalong I got a good hookup on a 51cm Yellowbelly, after a few happy snaps, he was released back to be caught another day.

I can't stress enough that catch and release of our natives is vital so that future generations can enjoy these fish. You don't need to kill and take home the carcass to have 'caught a fish'. Take some snaps, measure it, and show all your mates, and the enjoyment of seeing our natives swim off to be caught another day, is the second round of a great feeling.
