Metung Fishing

Well after a trip last week to Metung in Gippsland, just before Lakes Entrance, the Bream were on fire.

We headed out by boat, my father and I, to just off the jetty along 'the wall' into Metung. Casting right under the jetty it only took around 5 minutes for the first bite.

We ended up with a bag of Bream to take home, and a tailor, enough for a feed and released around 10 Bream in about 2hrs of fishing, not bad for this time of year, and the fact the water is still pretty dirty after the floods in the area.

From the land, the jetty in town right next to the pub is a great place to fish, and you don't want to cast right out into the lake, just under the structure, as that's where the fish lie in wait ;)
