Fishing at Mulwala

With the cold season in full swing, fishing has been rather slow on the Murray.

With Winter well upon us, fishing has been really slow around Mulwala.

If your wanting to get onto one of the greenfish, your best bet is trolling with a large and deep diving lure. Some lures to consider are the classic stumpjumper No. 1, CodSeeker lures, and anything as big as your hand, that can get down to around 6-9 meters.

Good Luck!

One big lure

that's a pretty big lure, is that for Murray Cod? I heard they were big, but didn't think something that size would be what you use!

It's a 'Big Mong'

The lure is a custom crafted from wood 'Big Mong', and yes, it's for Murray Cod. MC grow really big, they are the second largesst fresh water fish in the world. People used to fish for these with dead rabbits and birds for bait. I've even seen a lure that's a bird! with trebles on it!
