Bangalow, New South Wales
Bangalow is a popular location not far from Byron Bay and Lennox Head offering a change of scenery for travellers.
Bangalow - Northern Rivers, Subtropical New South Wales
Bangalow is well established and pretty location, tucked away in the hills behind Byron Bay and offers a nice change to the husstle and bustle of the sea side towns in the area. A short trip from Byron to the north or Lennox Head and Ballina to the south.
When staying near by, we have often found ourselves in Bangalow whether for shopping or just dropping in for breakfast or a beer as it does not take long to reach the town via the highway.
There is a bit on offer at Bangalow including an excellent pub to replenish lost fluids on those hot tropical days....
The farmers market is small but is good to stock up on local produce and the many cafes and long shopping strip mean you can easily spend half a day in the area.
On a recent trip to Bangalow, I decided to go for a wonder around behind the main strip of shops and was pleased to find the Heritage Museum and just beyond that a nice park land overlooking the weir.
Bangalow offers nice shade and is often a couple of degrees cooler than the towns along the beach so can offer some relief on the hotter days. I guess this adds to its laid back and pleasant atmosphere.
