Wool Spinning, Campbell Town, Tasmania

Reference :

Campbell Town
Campbell Town is 66km SE of Launceston on the Midland Hwy. It was established as an early garrison town on the route between Hobart and Launceston, but its inhabitants were nevertheless harassed by 3 notorious bushrangers, Matthew Brady, Martin Cash and John Quigley. In 1820 Saxon merinos were introduced to the area, and the town is still a centre renowned for its fine wool and stud sheep, as well as beef cattle and timber.
