Albury
- Sometimes known as only Albury, the real city is a conjoining of 2, Albury-Wodonga, and lies 575km SW of Sydney on the Murray River. Albury lies within New South Wales, while Wodonga, is on the Victorian side. The region was discovered by Hume and Hovell during their 1824 exploration, and Albury grew as an important paddlesteamer port in the heyday of the river trade. Today, the city serves a region rich in crops, cattle, wine and scenery. It is also a convenient stopover for those driving between Sydney and Melbourne.
