Transwa is Western Australian government’s regional public transport coach and rail operator. With a fleet of 21 Scania Coaches, four regional rail services , the high speed Prospector, the AvonLink, the MerredinLink and the refurbished Australind train, the Transwa network accesses more than 275 locations from Meekatharra and Kalbarri in the North, throughout the South-West Region to Augusta and Albany, and the east to Kalgoorlie and Esperance.

• The Prospector train service, capable of speeds over 160 kilometres per hour, cuts the 653 kilometre rail journey between Perth and Kalgoorlie by nearly

two hours, making the journey faster by rail than by car for the first time.

• Making its debut journey in 2005 the AvonLink operates between Perth and Northam/Toodyay. This commuter train is capable of speeds up to 160

kilometres per hour. The train also provides the MerredinLink services to Merredin six times per week.

• The Australind train operates between Perth and Bunbury seven days a week. The journey takes approximately two and a half hours and is utilised by

many day trippers. The Australind train is fully air conditioned, has a buffet and wheelchair access.

• The fleet of Transwa coaches make over 140 departures per week. Every one of the 56-seat coaches is fitted with the most modern in entertainment

systems, reclining seats, on-board toilets and seat belts.

Transwa offers the cheapest regional public transport fares in Australia. Transwa also has special discounted day return fares available for destinations serviced by the Australind and MerredinLink trains.
