Amarillo Vines is a very small boutique winery situated midway between Rockingham and Mandurah, 60 kilometres south of Perth.

The vineyard was established in 1995. There are only 2500 vines which are grown on one hectare of land. As you approach the winery you will see the vines are under a permanent bird net canopy. This ensures maximum production and limits fruit damage.

The winery is situated near the coast of the Peel wine region. The sand over the limestone soil on a tuart ridge and mediterranean climate helps to produce some of the best wine in Western Australia.

Owners Colin and Chris Ashby have built the medievil style cellar which has been open to the public for tastings and cellar door sales since October 2003. The cellar doors, hand crafted by Colin are a great talking point. Beyond the cellar doors the small, temperature controlled tasting room is lined with bottles of wine.

The wines produced from the vineyard include an Unwooded Chardonnay, an early picked Verdelho which is deliciously fruity and a small quanity of Rose. The red wines include a very easy drinking Merlot, a Cabernet Sauvignon which is exceptionally smooth and a wonderful full bodied Shiraz.

The wines are very reasonably priced from $AUD12.00 to $AUD18.00 per bottle. Discounts are available for orders by the carton.

The cellar door is open daily by appointment for tastings & celler door sales.

Other attractions close by include, Marapana Wildelife World, Durango Gallery with other wineries located within the region.
