The 1050 kilometre Tanami Road is the most direct and adventurous road route linking Halls Creek to Alice Springs. It is mainly unsealed road, accessible only to four wheel drive vehicles, heavy transport and tour buses. Road conditions must be checked and fuel stops well planned before commencing the journey.
