Broome Hovercraft - Broome
From $ 85.0 to $ 125.0
Broome Hovercraft operates two hovercraft and conducts tours (called flights) around the spectacular tidal reaches and mangrove habitats of Roebuck Bay.
The operations base is in the Port Precinct of Broome, Western Australia and overlooks the Deepwater Jetty and Roebuck Bay. The company's two hovercraft can operate up to six flights each, daily and offer customers the chance to experience a ride aboard one of the most adventurous types of transport in Western Australia. They access areas that cannot be reached by any other craft and take people to sights not visited by any other tour operators. There are some beautiful photographic opportunities along the route, and on many occasions green sea turtles are stranded on the tidal flats during low tides. This is a real eco tour, with marine animals frolicking in the bay, flora and fauna along the coastline and up into the tidal creeks. This is a bird watcher's paradise, with half a million wader birds flying in from the far northern hemisphere.
These two ACVs (air cushioned vehicles) are the only commercial hovercraft operating within Australasia at this time so you will need to holiday in Broome to experience the amphibian ride. They have a combined seating capacity of 32, with a new craft in the design phase with 38 seats. This will enable greater flexibility in the tours over the most biodiverse bay in the World.
A flight aboard a hovercraft provides a thrilling opportunity and the conditions at Broome, with its 10 meter tidal movement, are ideal. The flights provide an opportunity that many customers say they 'have never experienced before in their life'. From walking with pants rolled up on the mudflats to viewing footprints of the Sauropod Dinosaurs, Broome Hovercraft provides a great adventure.
Broome Hovercraft offers a variety of tours (flights) around Roebuck Bay in their two hovercraft, most often than not flying in tandem.
