Ancient iconography and techniques, like dot painting, are what many of us most commonly associate with Aboriginal art. While such traditions still carry through into contemporary practice, new methods and media are also being utilised to great effect. Gallery Gabrielle Pizzi represents indigenous artists from remote communities, as well as urban-based practitioners. The gallery also exposes their works to international audiences via events such as the Venice Biennale. Exhibitions range from painting to installation pieces and highlight less-recognised talent, as well as prominent artists.
