Central City Backpackers offers affordable backpacker accommodation in Hobart’s central business district.

The three-storey property has a range of dormitory-style accommodation. There are small (three-to-five bed), medium (six-to-seven bed) and large (eight-twelve bed) dormitory rooms available as all-male, all-female or mixed dorms. Single, twin or double rooms are also available. Central City Backpackers has a large, fully-equipped communal kitchen, a dining room, laundry, lounge and television area. Other facilities include dedicated sports television channels, Internet access, public telephones and bike and baggage storage. The property also has 24-hour secure access, a 24-hour night manager, security staff and a state-of-the-art fire protection system.

Central City Backpackers is located in the centre of Hobart and is close to Hobart shops, restaurants and cafes, nightclubs, cinemas, museums and parks. Take the short walk to Salamanca Place and the Saturday Salamanca Market, or stroll along Hobart’s waterfront. A touring information and booking service is available at reception; you can join a tour to Port Arthur or Freycinet National Park, go cycling on Mount Wellington, or take a wildlife cruise to Bruny Island.
