Arden Hills offers two distinctively different types of self drive off road experience for those who want to leave the beaten track and enjoy some of the Flinders Ranges unique scenery.

Track One – Arden Hills half day self drive tour.

Arden Hills is a four wheel drivers heaven with exhilarating climbs and breathtaking descents.

Arden Hills is a challenging experience that will leave you spellbound by the magnificent scenery. You will enjoy some of the most scenic country in the Flinders, ranging from native pine scrub to open spinifex covered hills and low mallee scrub. There are a number of unique flora species abutting the track and the area supports large numbers of Euros and other native fauna.

From the highest points of the track you have a 360 degree panorama that includes Lake Torrens, Mount Remarkable, the Wilochra Plain and Wilpena Pound. Keep a look out for the ever present Wedge Tailed Eagles that frequent the property.

Allow at least half a day to complete the track. Pack a lunch or use our great stone barbecue. Take time out to absorb the experience. Make use of the many photo opportunities. Your mobile will probably work out here, so turn it off and soak up the atmosphere of adventure without interruption.

Track Two – Nathaltee one to one and a half hours self drive/walking tour.

Nathaltee is a new type of track designed for all wheel drive vehicles, or four wheel driver’s who want a less challenging experience, mountain bikes, camels or horses, bush walkers and bush camping. Just nine kilometers from Quorn, you can leave town and be back two hours later, having experienced something that people who don’t get off the road miss out on.

You will experience early European culture, imagining some of the hardships the early settlers must have endured. The scenery is great from rolling hills to mallee scrub. Native fauna abounds along Nathaltee Track. This is a great sunrise or sunset tour.

What you need to enjoy this unique driving experience:

A well maintained four wheel drive vehicle, mountain bike.

Competent off road driving skills.

A sense of adventure.

Walkers or riders please carry plenty of water.

All drivers and passengers enter the property at their own risk and no liability will be accepted for damage to vehicles. Conditions apply. No trail bikes, chainsaws or dogs. Owners reserve the right to close the tracks at any time due to weather or any other conditions that in their opinion would render it unsafe.
