Return to Port Douglas

Raine Island, located off Port Douglas on the Great Barrier Reef, has the greatest number of nesting Green Turtles in the world. Each summer tens of thousands arrive to mate and nest. The northern drop-off is riddled with overhangs and caves housing a sleeping turtle or two, along with squirrelfish, pufferfish and butterflyfish. Keep an eye out for Tiger Sharks.
