Venman Bushland National Park - Brisbane

Jack Venman had a dream. In 1971 and for only a dollar, he sold 255 acres of his property to the government for future generations to enjoy. He then devoted the rest of his life to improving the area for others. Today, we have a tranquil portion of bush which everyone can enjoy, including the resident koala population.

Watch for wildlife: possums, gliders, koalas and wallabies abound. Listen to the tunes of birds and try to glimpse the rarely seen powerful owl. Two walking tracks take you to Tingalpa Creek. Wildflowers bloom in spring. Enjoy a picnic, or lunch cooked on a wood-fired barbecue (firewood supplied).
