Get caught up in the excitement and fun of a rural show.
The Katherine and District Show Society is a major community event held in July each year. It includes everything from horse and cattle events to a campdraft, with a rodeo on the Sunday. Adults as well as children can enter one or more of the many classes, ranging from art and craft to cooking and needle work. There are also agriculture, picture and pet displays, a dog-jumping competition and live entertainment in the main arena. All the usual side shows and trade exhibitors offer lots to do and see for locals and visitors alike.
