All our surfing lessons come with an exclusive guarantee backed by 17 years of beginner surf coaching experience. We promise you will stand and ride a wave for 40 metres or your money back.

Kool Katz owner Terry Hannon is Byron Bay's original and most experienced surf tour operator. He has been instructing on a daily basis since 1991. In his indomitable quest for safety and success he has honed the art and skill of beginner surf coaching.

Enjoy all the benefits of the NSW far north coast's year round tropical climate and let Terry and our professional team of accredited surf instructors take you to fun, easy and uncrowded waves.

Not just a surf school but a surf tour, Kool Katz takes you on a fun-filled 20-minute scenic coastal ride to the pristine sands of Seven Mile Beach at Lennox Head - or to Shaws Bay in Ballina. On a good day you'll surf with the dolphins and watch the whales.

Kool Katz runs group and private surf classes daily, all year round and caters for beginners to intermediate surfing levels. We teach everyone from 6 years to 60+. Our prices are among the industry's best and include free pick up from Byron Bay or Lennox Head; use of safe, soft surfboard, wetsuit or rash vest; and free food, drink and internet vouchers.

Corporate, school, family and large party bookings are welcome. Kool Katz is a leader in the use of confidence and esteem-building techniques as part of its successful teaching method.

When you learn to surf with the Kool Katz, you always land on your feet!'
