During the spring months Wongan Hills and district blossoms into a spectacular sea of wildflowers, best seen at Reynoldson's Flora Reserve, 15km north. Mount Matilda, 10km west, is a flora and fauna reserve with an ecowalk trail. In stark contrast to the region's flat farmlands are various rock formations also popular for wildflower sightings: Dingo Rock, 26km east, Mount O'Brien Lookout, 10km west, Gathercole Reserve on Moonijin Rd, and Christmas Rock, an old water catchment area closer to town, accessed off Wandoo Cres. Lake Ninnan, 10km west, provides a venue for waterskiing, sailing and swimming.
