DESTINATION: Waroona

Conveniently close to the Preston and Clifton lakes, Yalgorup NP, and other picturesque forested areas, the rural town of Waroona, 112km south of Perth, provides an excellent base for exploring. Settlers arrived in the district in the 1830s and a township (at the time known as Drakesbrook) was established about 40 years later. Timber milling and the arrival of the railway boosted the growth of the area.
