Pemberton

Pemberton is a forest timber town in southern Western Australia. It sits in a valley encircled by karri, jarrah and marri forests. Handcrafted timber products are a regional specialty.

Main Attractions

The Karri Visitors Centre incorporates a Pioneer Museum and Forest Discovery Centre. The many craft outlets create and sell hardwood wares and the Pemberton Sawmill offers guided tours. Pemberton Tramway operates a 1907 replica tram daily from Pemberton Station through scenic tall-timber country. Two trails, called Rainbow and Tramway, follow the former log transport route and include stops at the Big Brook Arboretum and at Big Brook Dam, which is a favourite fishing, swimming, canoeing and sailboarding spot.
