Nestled near awe-inspiring karri forests in the south-west corner of Western Australia, Northcliffe lies 31km south of Pemberton and offers visitors sightseeing, as well as myriad leisure and recreational activities; bushwalking, climbing and fishing, photography, canoeing and swimming.


Main Attractions

Located on Wheatley Coast Rd, Northcliffe Pioneer Museum recounts the town's history through photographs and memorabilia, while nearby Forest Park is home to the Hollowbutt Karri Tree, Twin Karris, the Perfect Tree and numerous walking trails. Mountain bike hire and horseriding operators offer active opportunities to enjoy the scenic terrain.

Mount Chudalup, 15km south, is a massive granite outcrop with a walking trail to a lookout. Set in karri forest, 16km east of Boorara Rd is Lane Poole Falls, spectacular in winter and spring. Windy Harbour, 27km south, has a sheltered beach suitable for surfing, swimming, fishing, and snorkelling and providing access to the cliffs of D'Entrecasteaux NP. Salmon Beach has spectacular views as well as salmon fishing from April to June. A 6km-long 2WD coastal drive travels the scenic route to Point D'Entrecasteaux, which features walking trails and lookouts. An excellent 48km Great Forest Trees Drive follows a gravel road taking in giant karri stands at Snake Gully and Big Tree Grove. Camping and bushwalking can be enjoyed at Shannon NP, 27km east.
