Watheroo NP, 50km north, protects rare and common flora and some unusual geological features found at Jingemia Cave. Western Wildflower Farm at Coomberdale, 16km north, provides insight into export flower farming and drying. New Norcia, 55km SE, is an extraordinary monastic village, established as a mission in 1846 by Spanish Benedictine monks and operated today by the same order. The National Trust has classified 27 of the Spanish-style buildings, 2 of which house a museum and art gallery. A self-guided walk and daily tours are available. A stay at the Monastic Guesthouse, which offers a bed, meals and prayers, adds much to the experience.
