Situated 4km east of the township is a 15m-high granite outcrop curling into a surf-like wave formation. Dated at 2700 million years old, the effects of weathering have fashioned Wave Rock's unique shape and natural chemical reactions with rainwater runoff have striped the granite red and grey. Other rock formations in the vicinity are the Breakers, Hippo's Yawn, The Falls and The Humps. At the information centre is Lace Place, reputedly showcasing the largest lace collection in the Southern Hemisphere. The Salt lakes, 1km east of the centre, are popular for picnics and swimming. Mulka's Cave, 18km to the north, contains Aboriginal rock paintings.
