DESTINATION: Boyup BrookBoyup Brook sits at the junction of the Blackwood River and Boyup Creek, in the heart of the South West's mixed farming and timber country. This pleasant little town is around 270km south of Perth. Main AttractionsThe Pioneer Museum, in Jayes Rd, provides an appreciation for local history, including a display of vintage clover seed-harvesting machinery. A Heritage Trail Walk of the township is signposted while the Bicentennial Trail follows the course of the Blackwood River and undulating hills. The information centre holds the Carnaby Collection of beetles; many of them rare specimens; and butterflies, and is an outlet promoting local art and handicrafts. Sandy Chambers Art Studio, in Gibbs St, has a unique hologram statue, artworks and aviaries. Perup Forest Ecology Centre, Cranbrook Rd, has an abundance of rare wildlife. |

Harvey Dickson's Country Music Centre is 5km NE at Easington Farm on Arthur River Rd. Its attractions include horse-drawn vehicles, boats and Elvis Presley memorabilia. A highlight of driving in the area is the spring wildflower display. The Haddleton Flora Reserve, 50km NE, is renowned for its pink and brown boronias. Two well-established wineries are Blackwood Crest and Scots Brook Winery.
