DESTINATION: Yarrawonga

Yarrawonga

Yarrawonga in Victoria and Mulwala in New South Wales are twin Murray River towns lying on the shore of Lake Mulwala. Both are popular holiday destinations.

Main Attractions

Lake Mulwala is an ideal venue for watersports; on Anzac Day a large sailing regatta is held on the lake. The Yarrawonga foreshore is particularly attractive with abundant birdlife, willow trees, boat ramps, BBQs and picnic facilities.

Trail rides through the forest and alongside the Murray River are available with Red Gum Horse Tours.

The Old Yarra Mine Shaft displays a large collection of gems and fossils and is found at the information centre.
