Cardwell

Situated on the waterfront of the Northern entrance to the Hinchinbrook Channel, Cardwell is a small town with all civic facilities and a great retail centre. It is the oldest town in Tropical North Queensland and was founded in 1864.

 


Main Attractions

Cardwell is renowned for its great fishing, crabbing, prawning and natural attractions. Cardwell is also situated adjacent to two World Heritage areas - the Great Barrier Reef to the east and the Wet Tropics Rainforest to the west.
